Drink spiking is a serious issue that affects individuals of all ages and genders, and it is a crime that involves the surreptitious addition of drugs to someone's drink with the intent of incapacitating them. According to a study published in the Journal of Analytical Toxicology, GHB and ketamine are two of the most commonly used drugs in drink spiking incidents. In fact, a report by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) states that in 2019, there were more than 11,000 emergency department visits related to GHB, and over 37,000 emergency department visits related to ketamine.
